FRENCH APARTMENT
EXHIBITION BY JOVILĖ SIBILĖ
A RETROSPECTIVE
French Apartment was an intimate, long-form exhibition that unfolded over several months on Pranciškonų Street in Vilnius Old Town. It functioned as both a home and a creative sanctuary - a place where visitors were welcomed into the artist’s inner world rather than a traditional gallery.
Throughout this period, guests could join guided tours, reflective gatherings, and small thematic sessions designed to explore creativity, identity, and emotional transformation. The exhibition blended art, conversation, and presence, offering an experience that was both personal and communal.
STORY BEHIND
As Jovilė Sibilė was crashing into reality from Delulandia, her kindergarten friend welcomed her to settle into an apartment in Vilnius Old Town. The red sofa in the center of the room, overlooked by three paintings on the walls, became a cradle for a pivotal part of her inner healing journey. Through photography, painting, music, and the play of words, she embarked on a personal quest, unlocking hidden layers of her psyche – leaving hardly a clear wall in sight.
With a new chapter on the horizon, Sibilë invited people to French Apartment for one final glimpse into her intimate space. Visitors were invited into her world for a final glimpse before she moved on - a space where stories of transformation, tenderness, and self-creation unfolded directly from the artist herself.
